I can't "fix" you, but I'll help // Kierra Josette | Intimate Artistry

First off, you don't need "fixed". I hate that there's a common misconception with boudoir.  Many think that you have to be a mom with 3.5 kids, 37 years old in the middle of your career, and emotionally lost in life. Some think you need to be "plus size" (eye roll, that phrase is so cringe-y) in order to figure out how to love yourself.

WRONG. Boudoir is for everyone, really.  You don't have to fit into a certain category to have a boudoir session. You don't have to meet any regulations. A session with Kierra Josette - Intimate Artistry is for any woman. This brave beauty was willing to share her story.

"Before my session I was super nervous. I wanted to feel more comfortable in my own skin. I’m super self conscious and wanted to feel like my body was something".

This is what I'm here for. I want to make you feel ~something~. I want you to realize that you are worthy and you are wonderful.

"I liked the whole experience. It’s not uncomfortable at all. I love how when the images are shared how all the women make each other feel good and praise each other’s bodies for what they are and how we are all diff and beautiful.

It was super relaxing and easy. Not uncomfortable at all. I definitely feel more confident in my body.  I wouldn’t say I’m 100% confident in my body but I definitely feel better about it and have more self worth".

Bingo. This statement. She's being so honest and real.  A boudoir session is not a "cure-all".  I can't promise that you'll wake up each and every day feeling 100% fabulous about yourself. However, I can promise that when you leave my studio you will feel LOVE.  You will have a bit more pep in your step and a bit more warm and cuddly in your heart.

My goal isn't to make you artificial and pretend to love yourself each day. I get it-- we're only human. But, I do want you to start that self-love journey. Practice loving yourself--it's a journey, not instantaneous.

"Every woman should try it. Do it! You will love it! You deserve it!"

Solo to Couples: Kierra Josette- Intimate Artistry

This woman is incredible. I've had so many sessions with her and I'm so excited to share her journey with you!

"Honestly, Kierra had done some of our family photos, and I was absolutely obsessed with her work. The first shoot I did was for my husband for Valentine's Day. The second shoot was for him after we got back together after a brief separation. Doing this meant a lot to me, and him, and helped reassure him that I wanted to do something to surprise him. The third session was of us together in a couples session, and it was an incredible experience.

Going into my first shoot, I had body image issues. I have for most of my life. But after I left and saw my sneak peaks, I thought "sheesh, and I'm worried about THAT?" I honestly thought that Kierra was some sort of magician, because I had never felt that comfortable in my own skin. It was also pretty hilarious during the first shoot when Kierra told me it was okay to relax. She said "pretend like you're not in your underwear in my grandparents basement. It's totally fine!"

FUNFACT!!! - My very first "studio" was in my the basement of my grandparent's house. I'm forever grateful for my uplifting and supportive family. Back to the story...

"My initial thoughts were "okay, so she's seen me with my kids in family photos. Will this be weird?" The second time, I was so anxious to have them done again because I knew just how amazing she was. The third session with my husband, I was more nervous for him. I remembered how strange I felt going in for the first time!"

It's completely normal to be nervous--and it's normal for your partner to be nervous. But, I promise once you get to the studio all of your fears will subside!

"Hubby and I talked the entire drive home how awesome of an experience it was. HE ACTUALLY ENJOYED IT, TOO! Once we saw our photos, we fell in love with each one. Seeing the chemistry we have together in print is a feeling that can never be described.

All I can say is that after each shoot and after each sneak peak, I ALWAYS wanted more. More time in front of her camera, more photos to show my husband, more memories captured. Each time was absolutely amazing, and something I will always cherish!

Do it. Do it now. Don't wait until you "lose those last ten pounds". Don't wait until "you are given permission". Don't wait until there is something you're trying to repair in your relationship. DO IT, and do it for yourself."

Being Brave // Kierra Josette Artistry

"I AM NOT GETTING NAKED! That is what I kept thinking, I can't believe I signed up for this, turn around you are CRAZY, why did you do this?"

These are quite common thoughts after booking your boudoir session. However, it's completely normal.

"I wanted it for my husband, but for myself too. Often after becoming a mother you just feel blah, and like no matter what you do you just don't look like the "old you". I had seen Kierra's work, and how uplifting she was and I thought maybe this would turn the negative thoughts away."

It's true. Many women think they are gifting this to their partner, however in the end it ends up being more of a gift to themselves. My entire goal is to bring you at least a tiny bit of peace and self acceptance within yourself.

"My personal image about myself changed. I felt good about myself again, I know I still need work, but doing this session when I wasn't my best and still looking good for it made me feel great! AND I didn't turn around, and I took my clothes off.

My favorite part was the entire session, you would think being 3/4 naked in front of another woman/person holding a camera would be awkward and it wasn't at all, we laughed and talked just like we would if I had clothes on.

The session made me feel like no matter how you feel about yourself, it doesn't mean that's how everyone else feels. Be proud of yourself, and love yourself with 30 extra pounds and with 30 less pounds!

JUST DO IT!! Don't wait for any reason-- Don't be nervous, and just listen do what she says even if its painful--those are the best shots!"
