The past may influence you, but your perserverance defines you // Kierra Josette Artistry

Many of these stories come easy to me. I'm able to write up a blurb and be content with what I've posted. However, this one was a bit more intimate. My heart strings were pulled in every direction. Instead of trying to formulate my thoughts, I'll let this brave woman do the talking:

"I needed a confidence boost. In my younger years (married now), I fell for the typical jerks who made me feel like I was Unworthy of anyone’s love. By the end of every relationship I felt myself finding it harder to love me and my body.

One guy told me I would never find anyone that would love me. I got “those looks” when I wanted to go on a chocolate chip cookie binge after a rough day at work. I was even left for someone else 48 days before my wedding... (thank God).

Fast forward a few years... I found my true love. We were both lost souls at the time we met due to our past relationships. Every day we grew together and lifted each other up. My husband has always been supportive and very affectionate. Always taken the time to tell me how beautiful I am and shows me as well.

I wanted to do this session not only for myself but for him. He is my best friend. He found me at my worst. When I hated myself the most, he loved me and carried me through it all. He was getting ready for AT with the Marine Reserves overseas when I gave him his book to take with him to Africa. (Boy did he light up) .... and looking up with tears in his eyes, he said “I hope after seeing these, you understand what I see when I look at you.

I was nervous— I mean who wants to try and be sexy while a complete stranger takes your picture?? I even took a girlfriend with me to calm my nerves! But once her camera snapped the first shot- the anxiety went away!

With Kierra, you feel like you are with a girlfriend. She coaches you through every position, encourages you, tells you how great everything looks. You leave feeling completely sexy, sassy, and confident!

My favorite part was the laid back atmosphere. And that she told me every position to do... I didn’t have to think about anything except feeling good about myself. 

It made me a more confident woman and even after three babies I look back at those pictures and I am still confident. (I was two weeks pregnant and didn’t know it).  Next time I get to show my mommy marks (stretch marks) — of which I am very proud of!"
 

Your past does not define you. The demons from years ago no longer have a grip on the powerful woman you are in this instant. Take a chance and be set free of those fears. Let me guide you to see the truest beauty you're capable of wearing. 

Fear is heavy; you are stronger // Kierra Josette Artistry

Being photographed intimately, in very little clothing can be gut wrenching and nerve wracking. I'm honestly amazed at how many women put their fears aside and jump! My passion for women empowerment is *so* strong. Yes, I like that I can create pretty images. But, I LOVE that I can show you the true work of art your body is. 

I think I'm so passionate about this because I know what it's like to feel those certain things about yourself. I can relate to the stories and failures you share with me. Despite that, I know how GOOD it can feel once you overcome those negative thoughts.

"I was super nervous when I got there... in fact I almost chickened out but I'm so glad I did it.

This stunner almost didn't show up to her session!! Thankfully she did because she was one of my favorite sessions this Fall. Do not fret about not knowing what to do. It is my job to walk you through the entire process. I will show exactly how to pose and move your body. I promise I will photograph you in a way that will make you see the goddess you a really are. 

" My favorite part was stepping out of my comfort zone. It made me realize that I am beautiful no matter what my size is".

Boudoir is not limited to one size. I accept and encourage each and every woman to try a session at least once.

"Just do it....Kierra will make you feel so relaxed and make you wonder why you didn't do it sooner".

My, oh my. What fun it was travelling down memory lane to dig up these images off an old harddrive. When this sweet gal volunteered to be a featured babe on our blog I was so excited. She was one of the first beauties to visit me two years ago when I broke into boudoir. Although my style has evolved and my location itself has changed the meaning and importance will hold true forever. 

"I wanted to feel better about myself although my husband tells me EVERYDAY I am beautiful, I still had those negative thoughts due to a past relationship. My husband also begged me to do a session.

I was very nervous and thought I was way to big to be doing a session."

I hear and read these words each and every day. I want to let you know that there is NEVER a limit on what type of woman can have a boudoir shoot. These sessions are for anybody, despite the boundaries society thinks they can put on us. 

"Kierra made me feel beautiful. After each shot she had a smile on her face and a positive comment. After doing a session with Kierra it made me feel better about myself. I was not ashamed to let others know I had done a session".

I asked her if she had any advice to women who are considering a session for themselves:

"DO IT! Everyone is beautiful doesn’t matter your size! You are worthy! Don’t let negative people bring you down!Also, Kierra kicks ass & makes you forget about all those negative thoughts!"

Funfact: that last sentence made me smile so big when I read her words.
